Hey Walter, I met you when you and Ritchie played the Cork Opera House. (I was doing sound for you both times). The first time you gave me a demo (Swamp Cabbage 2003) of what then became 'Honk'. It's such a cracker! Would love to see you guys in Ireland. Keep it Sweet.

Review! SWAMP CABBAGE/Squeal: Almost like a spiritual return to the golden days of Capricorn Records when the evil distributors were forcing the label to keep the product flowing between Allman and Marshall Tucker albums and they came up with a bunch of cool groups that seemed second tier but really weren't. Sure there were klunkers, but there were proto jams bands like Dixie Dregs, Sea Level and others that had some smoking chops and served a purpose other than filling the pipeline and keeping the house cats busy. Pretty much grown from the same southern soil, this trio is spot on with the neo roots jamosity. A zesty take for kids that never got to enjoy the full on effect of AOR when it was a smoking part of the radio dial. 802 (Zoho Roots) -www . midwestrecord . com/2008/01/29/012908

Hey fellas!! I just found out about you guys today on a road trip home. One of the local stations played Tallahassee!! AWESOME!! I looked at my husband and said, "I've never heard this ZZ Top song before" he said, "I don't think it is ZZ Top" Sure enough right after the song the DJ told us who it was. I wrote it down, came home and looked you guys up!! Which leads me to my next wondersome question..WHEN THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS COMING TO MEMPHIS!!!!!! That would be a killer show and I'd be front row baby!

Swamp Cabbage came to Kansas City, and they were kickin' ass and takin' names as we say here. They played at the bar recently named the best Blues Bar in America, and the crowd went nuts. In the Fifties, some smart people in Memphis combined Blues with Hillbilly music, and Rock & Roll was born. In the Seventies, some smart people like Lynyrd Skynyrd in the South combined Blues with Hillbilly music, and the finest Rock & Roll before Swamp Cabbage was born. So, I've been wonderin' who's gonna do it again in a new and totally unique way, and when I went to hear Swamp Cabbage, I got my answer. I'm proud and gonna be prouder that I heard them before they became famous. Paul Grahovac Board of Directors Kansas City Blues Society
